Concrete outdoor staircase covered with a grey non-slip finish, in front of a newer home

SERVICE AREA · Lévis

Epoxy flooring in Saint-Nicolas.

West of Lévis, along the river and Highway 20.

Saint-Nicolas has been part of Lévis since the 2002 merger. The area has grown a lot with newer homes, often with a double garage. A young slab has a catch: it can still hold moisture. We test before pouring, because epoxy laid on concrete that's too damp can blister.

    The area

Concrete entryways, stairs and porches are the other side of it, like the staircase in the photo. Outdoors, freeze-thaw is the real test: an exterior finish has to stay safe when wet and hold up in the sun. We use a polyaspartic topcoat made for outdoor use, which resists UV, with a non-slip aggregate mixed into the coat.

Our blog articles about Lévis apply to Saint-Nicolas too: same kind of homes, same winter, same questions about flake colours and upkeep. The Lévis area page lists the other South Shore municipalities we cover.

My house is new. Should I wait before doing the garage? New concrete has to finish drying. Rather than guessing, we measure the slab's moisture: the test tells us whether we can pour now or should wait a few more weeks, and we tell you which before booking anything.

Can you coat outdoor stairs? Yes, if they're concrete. Époxy Québec Pro installs a non-slip, UV-resistant finish made to spend the winter outside.
